We are excited to co-host a side event at the UN World Data Forum with partners Humanity & Inclusion, Restless Development and CIVICUS. Our session ‘CitizEMPOWER: sharing practical citizen-led data tools and catalyzing partnerships with official data communities to respond to Covid-19' will take place on Wednesday, October 21st 2020 from 11:00 - 12:15 PM (UTC).
This session which will showcase innovative citizen-generated data (CGD) initiatives led by people with disabilities, young people and civic space defenders highlighting how these initiatives can support governments, researchers and statisticians to design inclusive responses to Covid-19 and other crises. It will foster discussion between both CGD data and official data communities in order to explore the opportunities and challenges of strengthened collaboration to address data gaps and effectively respond to crises such as Covid-19.
